T-Mobile is The Lowest Cost Provider. T-Mobile Customers Don't Care.

Interesting News from a Wireless Customer Survey- T-Mobile has the lowest cost wireless plans. I don't think that news itself is surprising. Many have written than T-Mobile has the cheapest cell phone plans. What might be interesting is that many T-Mobile customers plan on switching providers, anyway. Nearly have of those surveyed said they planned on switching providers in the next year.

And this is really a big part of the whole AT&T Buying T-Mobile story. Att says it needs the resources for it's network. The FCC wants to see proof. Meanwhile consumers want to know if AT&T plans on keeping the T-Mobile Brand, Plans, and Prices. If ATT gets its way, will they get rid of the cheap plans now offered by T-Mobile? Do T-Mobile customers even care?

Apparently around 1/4 of T-Mobile customers have a negative view of AT&T. So just because they might switch doesn't mean they want to come on board with AT&T.

Verizon Wireless, unsurprisingly, has the best results in the survey.

Verizon Wireless and Google teaming up on Search Deal

According to Wired, Verizon and Google are working on a deal for Google to be the exclusive search provider on Verizon devices.

I expect to see a lot more deals like this in the future. Verizon Wireless and Google are both huge companies with big revenues. They also understand that technology changes and the relationship between the internet and wireless devices will continue to grow and change.

More and more people continue to use smartphones and other multi-use mobile devices that allow them to not only text and check email but browse websites and search. New developments in platforms like Android will only continue this trend. The future is now, and it involves people using the internet on mobile devices.

A huge part of Google's business is paid search from ads that appear along with natural results. Companies like verizon will serve many of these queries made on mobile devices. Without a sweet deal, carriers could look to someone else ( Yahoo, MSN Live, or their own proprietary service) to provide this service. Google is not stupid and neither is Verizon. They are dominant players and deals like this provide mutual benefit.

The Best Cell Phone Plan for my Needs

The best cell phone family plan for me may not be the best wireless phone plan for you. It all depends on what our individual calling needs are. I mostly use my cell phone at offpeak hours or for text message and other data use. I have rarely used more than 200 minutes in a month, when you consider nights, weekends, and mobile to mobile minutes are usually "free."

The best wireless phone plan for me and my family is the Verizon Wireless Nationwide Basic 450. This wireless phone plan gives me all the peak minutes I need while allowing me to call my friends and family as much as I need to. I have added unlimited IN Texting plus 500 texts for $10 a month. This means I can text other Verizon Wireless users as many times as I want plus up to 500 texts to others.

Of course, for any plan you need the right wireless phone. I have a LG chocolate and Samsung Alias phones for Verizon Wireless. I am very happy with the quality and performance.
